Snakes shine at Schools XC

Recently at the schools cross country, with various schools represented, CVFR’s racing snakes put on a great performance of running. Many of them gained selection for West Yorkshire Schools Cross Country where they will be back on familiar ground running for the same team and not against one another. In the sticky mud and energy sapping conditions, a fell runners , first off was the junior schools on Wednesday 1st December. In Year 4 Lottie Cliffe ran a great race to place 5th girl with Year 5’s Mani Kaler battling through a bad stitch to take 8th. Year 6 boys almost did a clean sweep with Archie Cole taking 2nd, Harry Cliff 3rd and Ewan Edwards 4th

On Thursday 2nd, in a cold raw day, the secondary school pupils took to the mud with some phenomenal results. Years 7 girls race saw Clara McKee running away with the win. In the boys race Joe Stone placed a brilliant 3rd, Noah De Wit doing his very best after a bout of illness in 9th and Ted Parker battling hard for 36th place. Not to be outdone by his younger sister, in this very competitive Year 8/9s race, Thomas McKee took top spot with Wynn Standish running hard to take 25th place.  Year 10/11  saw Euan Logue take 4th with Year 12 seeing JD Martin Anderson in 3rd and his good friend Elijah Peers Webb in 4th.
