Summer handicap fun of tussocks, steps and lots of laughs

Some of our older juniors who have raced at a senior race tacked the clubs Summer Handicap and acquitted themselves really well among the seniors.  The race is notorious for its tussocks and mud and although it didn’t disappoint is was drier than previous years. Joseph Hobbs was the quickest junior placing 12th overall and getting in in just under the hour in 59mins and 8seconds. It’s a fun night out as you can see and was enjoyed immensely by 44 of our club members.

AFTER THE SUMMER & NEW MEMBERS INFORMATION

FIRST WEEK BACK WILL BE 11 SEPTEMBER AND REMEMBER YOUR MEMBERSHIP MONEY OF £7.00

Due to the amount of juniors we are having every week we are still unable to take any new junior fell runners on.

We hate doing this as we want to give every child the opportunity to come fell running. We have to consider safety first. We are running a waiting list so if you would like your child adding to this please email me and I’ll add them to the list. thirzahyde@icloud.com. Any juniors who were on the waiting list from before the summer will be invited by email to join us on our return on 11 September.

Thanks Junior CVFR team.

Cowling Gala

Young Harry Cliff raced at Cowling Gala on Saturday, achieving 2nd place, just 1 second behind the winner, after getting stuck at a massive bottle neck at a wall. Said proud mum Rachel:

‘He’s really loving racing and is rarely out of his CVFR hoodie. I’m looking forward to him having to wear school uniform next year to give it some respite!’
