Sam “splashes” his way to super 2nd place

a determined Sam (no 11)

In the junior Stanbury Spash races on the same day, some of the younger Calder Valley members had fantastic runs in what are the now legendary ‘quarry runs.’ Living up to it’s name in the wet and muddy course new club member Sam Annison splashed his way to a fantastic second place in the under 9s race in a time of 3mins 15secs, finishing just 3 seconds behind the winner Alex Townsend of local club Keighley & Craven. In the under 13s race talented duo James Duffy (7min 15secs) and Patrick Casey (7min 23secs) had excellent races, finishing in 2nd and 3rd place respectively being pipped to the post by another local Sam Lenny (6mins 41secs). Sylvie Smith had another fine run to take 6th under 13 girl in 10mins 5secs. in the tough under 17s category Lucas Greenwood ran well in a time of 14 mins 32 secs to finish 6th place.
